The Honors program invites you to join us in the Gilman Center on the Middletown campus at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14 for The Life Cycle of Dissent: A Structured Look at Social Movements and Mobilization with Professor April Dove.

This master class focuses on primary types of social movements, structural characteristics of movements over time, and theoretical perspectives that seek to explain individual and group mobilization. 

Professor April Dove is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Director of the GTC Honors Program at Greenville Technical College in Greenville, S.C.  Her sociological research interests include social movements, political protest, immigration, and Middle East studies.  Her other research interests include Honors education and administrative practices, particularly at two-year institutions.  Her undergraduate and graduate studies in sociology were completed at the University of South Carolina.
