"The Life Cycle of Dissent: A Structured Look at Social Movements and Mobilization" on Feb. 14

The Honors program invites you to join us on Feb. 14 for a presentation and/or master class for "The Life Cycle of Dissent: A Structured Look at Social Movements and Mobilization," presented by Professor April Dove.

The presentation will be held at 11 a.m. in Room 110 of the Rowley Center on the Middletown campus, with the master class to follow at 12:30 p.m. in the Gilman Center for International Education in the Middletown campus library

The presentation and master class will both focus on primary types of social movements, structural characteristics of movements over time, and theoretical perspectives that seek to explain individual and group mobilization. 

Professor April Dove is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Director of the GTC Honors Program at Greenville Technical College in Greenville, S.C. Her sociological research interests include social movements, political protest, immigration, and Middle East studies.  Her other research interests include Honors education and administrative practices, particularly at two-year institutions.  Her undergraduate and graduate studies in sociology were completed at the University of South Carolina.
